1. How to Accept a Secure Certificate from Etudes Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate enables encryption of sensitive information during online transactions, such as your login information that travels from your computer to our servers. SSL Certificate technology protects you and sensitive data on our servers. You may be prompted to accept a secure certificate from Etudes. Select "Accept this certificate permanently" and click on OK, if you don't want to do this every time your reach our servers.
2. Stop Alerts About Certificate Mismatch and Mixed Content While working in your courses, you may find that, at times, you are prompted to accept display of non-secure items on pages. This is because the web page designer may link to non-secure elements (e.g. images located on http servers). Additionally, you may have to stop alerts for certificate mismatches. Go to Options >> Security >> Settings >> Uncheck "show warnings" >> OK + OK
Second, make sure that you have checked to allow SSL encryption.
Additionally, you want to make sure you have set your cache right. 1MB.
You will need to restart Firefox. In Firefox, you may want to check "Don't warn me again..." and click on OK to never see the alert again. If you don't get this prompt, perhaps you don't have the latest Firefox or you are on the Mac. Here is a link to download the add-on for the PC: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2131
You can turn off the alert messages completely by unchecking the following warnings under Internet Options >> Advanced tab. You want to be sure to restart Internet Explorer when you are done.
Additionally, you want to enable "Display mixed content" under Miscellaneous. See the screen shots below. This setting is located under Internet Options >> Security >> Under the Custom tab.
You will need to restart IE. Now, nonsecure content (http://) used in course sites will always be displayed on our secure Etudes servers. And, you will not get alerts for certificate mismatches.
