Navigation Improvements
· Added the ability to Preview all questions in a POOL at once. Click on
the View icon to the left of the title of the pool to preview all of its
questions.
· Added the ability to Preview select questions in a pool. Click on the
title of a pool to see the list of its questions. Then, check the box of the
questions you want to preview and click on Preview.
· Added PREV/NEXT buttons in the EDIT page of questions in pools, allowing
authors to click on a question to edit it, and then click on NEXT to edit
subsequent ones, without having to return to the main list of the pools to
choose another one to edit. With the PREV/NEXT buttons, you can now move
through all your pool questions to preview them and edit them at the same
time.
· Added PREV/NEXT buttons in the individual Preview page of a question. If
you click on the View icon to the left of a question to preview it, you can
navigate to the previous or the next, again, without having to return back
to the main list of questions, as it was necessary in the past.
· Added PREV/NEXT buttons in the preview page of an ASSESSMENT. Click on the
View icon to the left of your first assessment, and then click on NEXT to
preview the next one, and so on, until you have previewed all of your
published and unpublished assessments.
Assignment Improvements
· Included "Mark as Evaluated" functionality under Grade Questions for
1-question assignments
· If assessment type is 'assignment,' the default is now set to 'manual' and
'upon submission' for new assignments that are authored. This enabled
students to get back into an assignment to see its instructions and what
they submitted. They won’t see comments or scores until their submission and
grades are released. They will see a note that the assignment is not yet
graded.
Student View / Delivery Enhancements
· Same as above. New handling of settings (“upon submission” and “manual
release”) allows students to get back into an assessment to view the
instructions and questions and what they submitted. Answers, comments and
scores are controlled by Review settings, like before.
· Added the ability for students to view all of their (released)
submissions, if multiple tries were allowed. The submission that 'counts'
(score is in the gradebook) is highlighted with *Best*.
· Refined the handling of when model answer is shown in student Review.
Instructors can now control to show (or not) the model answer once grades
and submissions are released by checking a box under the settings of the
assessment. Students can get in to view an assignment and what they
submitted immediately upon submission, but the model answer will be shown
(optionally) *after* scores and submissions are released to students by
their instructors.
Grading Views Improvements
· Improved the handling and workflow of "View All" submissions in grading
of multiple tries. All multiple submissions for a specific student are now
displayed in the list of submissions, in alpha order and submission date.
Instructors do not need to click on a "View All" link to open all
submissions of a student. Instructors can check a box to 'View Only Best
submission" if they desire to view only the best and not all tries
submitted. By default, all submissions (even multiple tries) are included in
the list. When clicking inside a student's (one of several) submission, you
can navigate to their next try by clicking on the Next button. Likewise,
multiple submissions are included in the next/prev workflow when navigating
in Grading Submissions.
· Implemented in-line expand / collapse user-interface improvements for
model answer, hints, and overall comments. This hides these elements from
the page by default, so that instructors can focus on grading of the
submissions and not get distracted with extra information. With a click on
the link (i.e. Model Answer, Hints, etc.), the screen expands and reveals
the information.
· Likewise, we now show assignment instructions (question) collapsed in all
grading views, as sometimes, the instructions are lengthy and were adding to
unnecessary scrolling when grading.
· Added userid (in parentheses) along with the students’ names in grading
for disambiguation. There were rare cases where two students in the same
class had the same first and last name.
User Interface Improvements
· Added sort questions in Pools by creation date. This is a new column.
It allows instructors to author new questions or edit existing questions,
without losing where they were on the list.
· Add submission START DATE in the grading views of submissions and in
student view. You no longer have to wonder as to when exactly your students
STARTED an assessment. You know!
· Spell out "Essay Question" or "Task Question" instead of just 'Question'
for essays and tasks.
· Align feature for Editing Pool properties with the user interface in the
Assessments' page. Added an edit / gear icon for this functionality to the
right of the pool title (like the settings in assessments). Included the
ability to edit a pool's properties when you are inside a pool, too.
Error Handling
· Alert instructors in red when an assessment has zero (0) points. Do not
allow the publication of assessments if they are set to have points but no
points have been assigned to them.
· Added the ability for instructors to publish assessments for no point
value, by choice.
Fixes
· Fix alignment of A, B, C. D in multiple choice questions. Set to
top-align. It was set to ‘center’ before, and if choices had long text, the
alignment of the text with the A, B, C, D choices was off.
· Set alignment of matching question text to top-align. Same problem as in
the previous item.
